Ophrys incubacea is a quite slender orchid, easily recognizable with almost black flowers in contrast to the green stem and perianth.

The lip bears well developed protuberances, hairy on the external side. The lip edges are directed backward and show a plentiful pilosity. The bluish mirror is shaped as a very long "H".

This Ophrys blooms from March to May.
