Ophrys passionis is quite robust and looks like to O. sphegodes. It could be locally very frequent although weakly wide-spread. Sepals are green and petals are generally darker, green-brown reddish and particularly wide with sinuous edges.

The lip is dark brown and bears a long "H"-shaped bluish mirror. The basal field is not brighter than the lip.

Flowering season lasts from end of March to May around Easter period, particularity which is at the origin of its name.

     
 
     

Certain specimens of Ophrys passionis show particularly broad petals that underline similarities with Ophrys garganica.
