Geographic Range circumboreal.
Physical Characteristics perennial frutescent plant. Stem is ligneous, prostrate, it roots at the nodes. Opposite leaves, from 3 to 6 centimeters long and 1 centimeter wide, succulent, white-silvery, linear-lanceolate or lanceolate. The little flowers are sessile and gathered in panicles, sometimes mixed with leaves. It flowers from June to July.
Notes it has hairs to eliminate excess of salts stored in the leaves. The piling up of dead hairs and salt on the leaves surface increases the reflection of solar radiation, reducing the received heat and limiting evaporation.
Habitat its 'a typical halophile plant that is situated on salt soils of the littorals. The extended submersion can restrain the growing of the plant.
