Solea Lewisville offers residents connections, fellowship and joy. The 55-plus active adult community brings a maintenance-free lifestyle opportunity for Texas adults who are ready to live actively and without the everyday stresses of owning a home.

The community is founded on three pillars:
  • Sharpen your mind
  • Strengthen your body
  • Share your gifts
Through the three pillars, the community plans a variety of events and experiences to enrich residents’ lives. Community Manager, Londa Wells, said on a typical day, residents can be found having coffee, talking about what they did last weekend, and bragging about their grandkids.

Unique senior community

Wells said many Solea Lewisville residents are coming from a home where children have grown up and moved on, and as grandparents, they just get a visit now and again.

“I think the fellowship that happens in our community, really brings those residents that have lived alone for a while back to life,” she said. “They're able to share their stories and their thoughts and make connections—they were tired of being lonely.”

For many Solea Lewisville residents, having that community means they're willing to compromise on having the space of a full-size home and move to a one- or two-bedroom spacious apartment, she said.

“Living here gives them that chance to come out of their apartment, visit with other people and make new friends and connections,” Wells said.

Community and amenities

As an active adult community, Solea Lewisville offers plenty of opportunities for residents to stay fit and get social.

All regularly scheduled activities, classes and on-site events are included with residents’ monthly rent. The amenities at the resort-style community are extensive and help residents live their best lives.

Some amenities include:
  • pickle ball court
  • bocce ball court
  • library
  • community garden with raised beds
  • dog park
  • craft room
  • clubroom lounge and community kitchen with coffee bar and wine fridge
  • chef-inspired kitchen in each apartment
  • 24-hour fitness center
  • pet-friendly community
Wells said part of the magic is that residents don’t need to drive to a class they want to attend—it’s all onsite. Amenities like the 24-hour fitness center can even be beneficial for residents with issues like fibromyalgia, which can cause pain and muscle stiffness, Wells said.

For many residents, the freedom that comes with active adult living means they’re able to focus on themselves, Wells said.

“Maybe they haven't had time to take care of themselves because they've been taking care of their children or their grandchildren, or maybe work was consuming them and they didn't have time to focus on [themselves],” Wells said. “Now, it can be all about them, what they want to do and how they want to feel.”

Transitioning to Solea Lewisville

While Solea Lewisville doesn’t offer in-house movers, the business works closely with several moving companies as well as Marketplace Homes. The Solea Lewisville staff can help prospective residents get connected with the resources they need to sell their homes and move into the community.

To qualify for residency at Solea Lewisville, guests must be screened through a background and consumer credit check. In addition, all applicants per home must make 2.5 times the monthly rent in gross income and be 55 years of age or above.

“For a lot of our seniors, I know that their income is a little restricted,” Wells said. “But how we can help them best is by looking at their savings account and other retirement [money] they have saved.”
