Cyrtomium falcatum

Japanese Holly Fern is a fast-growing evergreen fern with 2’ vase-shaped arching fronds that sport leathery dark green and glossy holly-like pinnae. Japanese Holly Ferns thrive in shade and slightly acidic, moist, and well-drained soil.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Water regularly.  Minimal cleanup in spring pruning back damaged fronds before new fronds.  Root rot can be an issue if the soil doesn’t drain well, and slugs can be a problem as well.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Garden,

Rock Gardens, Houseplants, Containers.
