€15,500 in aid for tac-Cawla estate residents through photovoltaic panels€15,500 in financial aid has been distributed to residents of the tac-Cawla Housing Estate in Victoria, from credit accumulated through the use of photovoltaic panels.

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, through the EcoGozo Directorate, distributed the payments from the 231 photovoltaic panels installed, which are spread over blocks of apartments in the locality.

“Every year these panels generate electricity from the sun which goes into the national grid. The amount of electricity they generate is converted into credit and distributed to residents in the form of financial aid,” said the Gozo Minister.

He went on to say that there are a total of 15 blocks in the tac-Cawla Housing Estate, with each block housing 8 apartments, and a total of 120 people.

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that “this financial aid is aimed at alleviating some of the financial burdens for these families and at the same time we are continuing to encourage renewable energy.”
