Nutrient, fertilizer, and repotting needs for Pteris Cretica: repot after 2X growth

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.

By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil itā€™s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.

To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Pteris Cretica after it doubles in size or once a yearā€”whichever comes first.

šŸ§ Troubleshooting

When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.

Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.

Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.

Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.

Right now it is too new in my house to describe its progress. But it is very beautiful light and airy and yet very present in the room.

I struggle with ferns in general, but after killing two of these, Iā€™m gonna say the Cretan brake is the least hardy of all the ferns Iā€™ve had. I do live in a dry climate, but Iā€™ve managed to keep other ferns at least alive with attentive care - not this guy! He is a bone-dry shriveled mess even with constant moist-not-wet soil, lots of misting, and living in the most fern-friendly room in my home.
