Natalie Rovello is a sophomore from Kansas City. A childhood passion for her local art museum led her to pursue a degree in Art History, and a teenage fanaticism for Caetano Veloso inspired her to take on a second major in Portuguese. Her research interests include Latin American modernism in the early 20th century, Brazilian contracultura, vernacular art, and museum curation. She loves what she studies dearly and is endlessly grateful for the support she's received from the SpanPort department and this FLAS fellowship opportunity from the Latin American and Iberian Institute. When she's not tearing her hair out over a deadline, you can find her around campus reading voraciously, filling a sketchbook, or doing laps on her bike.
