Sicca syndrome
It is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by lymphocytic infiltration of the salivary and lacrimal glands. This chronic inflammatory process gradually leads to glandular injury and related dysfunction over the course of years, eventually causing the cardinal symptoms of dry eyes and mouth.
