For homework each week at Maltese language tuition, our teacher inspires us to write small piece in Maltese to present at the next lesson. Carol, one of my friends in class (and one of my favourite people in the world), read out her very imaginative story and I found myself not only in love with her writing, but in hysterics at the story! I loved it that much I asked if she would let me feature her story on my blog, so here it is 🙂
Il-Baqra li marret fuq il-jott
Mhux is-soltu li tara baqra fuq jott, imma il-ġurnata li jiena kont baqra, hemm mort u għandi ħafna x’ngħidlek.
Biex nitla’ t-taraġ bl-erba’ saqajn għoddni mort minn fuq għal isfel!
Wara li wasalt fuq, kien hemm iż-żebra u ix-xadina fuq daharha.
Imbagħad fuq l-ilma nara l-papra tiekol il-ħobż bil-farfett fuq daharha.
Kemm jiġri il-ħin! Sar il-ħin biex niekol il-ħaxix mal-bebbuxu biex nagħmel il-ħalib!
