Taxonomy: Fam. Caryophyllaceae// Genus: Arenaria// Species: Arenaria serpyllifolia L.

Variability: Arenaria serpyllifolia var. viscida DC. (syn. Arenaria serpyllifolia var. viscidula Roth.)

Determined according to the botanical key provided in The Flora of the Republic of Macedonia (Micevski, 1993).

Distribution: Native to Temperate Eurasia to Philippines, North Africa to Ethiopia according to to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal.

Habitat: Found in open habitats – grassland, rocks, rocky terrains with shallow soil.

Flowering period: Spring.
