Have you held other elected or appointed offices before?

In addition to serving on the Council and the EDC, I serve on the Affordable Housing Agency, the Ethics Board and I am an elected member of the Marlboro Township Planning Board. I was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Marlboro from 2007 to 2018 and served as its President 2011-2012 and was honored with the highest award for leadership during my term.
I am a firm believer in giving back to the community. I love living in Marlboro and I want to continue doing the good work my co-Council members and I have accomplished over the past 12 years to make Marlboro one of the best places to live in Monmouth County

Why are you seeking reelection?

I am a firm believer in giving back to the community. I love living in Marlboro and I want to continue doing the good work my co-council members and I have accomplished over the past 12 years to make Marlboro one of the best places to live in Monmouth County.

Why should you be elected over other candidates?

My proven track record of accomplishments and my experience in municipal government speak for themselves. What I am most proud of is that council is focused on smart spending and maintaining flat real estate taxes. By practicing fiscal responsibility, the township has earned a AAA rating with S&P as well as Mooney’s Investors Services. It’s important to know that Marlboro is one of only six municipalities in New Jersey that has a AAA rating. I am also proud that we have worked hard protecting and preserving open space throughout Marlboro for future generations to enjoy.

What is the most important issue facing the Marlboro community and what are you planning to do about it?

I am focused on maintaining the highest level of preparedness to meet any challenge that arises, including unforeseen events such as severe weather and outages caused by snow or flooding and the health crisis here and around the world caused by the Coronavirus Pandemic. I am committed to making sure we continue to have committees and programs in place like the Marlboro Office of Emergency Management where volunteers and members of the administration (police, fire and rescue, emergency medical, public health and public works) work as a team, at the highest levels possible to make sure our residents are safe during any unexpected events.

What are other important issues you are running on?

Clearly, it’s important the township stays on track with fiscal responsibility, smart spending and maintaining our AAA rating. Equally important is our commitment to keep our schools and communities safe so our residents can enjoy the best quality of life possible.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I was the sole proprietor of an advertising and public relations firm for over 25 years and for the past 15 years I’ve been a full-time real estate professional and a coach. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to learn leadership, budget, planning and communication skills that have proven invaluable to me in business and as a Council member.

Is there anything else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

In addition to my business career and my position as Marlboro Township Councilwoman, I’ve been council liaison to the Economic Development Committee (EDC). The EDC is focused on attracting new businesses to Marlboro. The businesses create commercial tax rateables and that helps reduce real estate taxes for our residents. I am most proud of my participation in the development of the Shop Marlboro Tax Rewards Program. Residents who use the Shop Marlboro card at participating businesses help those businesses grow and the residents are rewarded with credits on their real estate taxes. Shop Marlboro is simply a great program and Marlboro was the first municipality in the country to launch this program.
