Description
Horse mackerel is caught all year round, whereas the Japanese horse mackerel Trachurus japonicas and short mackerel are caught during the summer. Although tough to handle, these small sized mackerel are said to go good fried in spicy sauce.
In Vietnam, some mackerel species were also recorded to be at sea in the province of Quang Ngai , Phu Quoc , in the waters of Kien Giang . Mackerel is a specialty of Phu Quoc, Hau Giang
