You will receive a cutting, without roots. Cuttings can vary between 3 to 8 cm. They are sent without roots and without a pot. Opuntia microdasys subspecies rufida. The mother plant and its cuttings are grown with all organic products. I do not use industrial pesticides, and the fertilizer is my own organic humus.
About packaging: All of our products are shipped in protective packaging. We use recycled materials, support and practice recycling. So don't expect a pretty box. In the end what matters is what's inside.
Scientific name: Opuntia Microdasys subsp. Rufida.
Family: Cactaceae.
Origin: Native to the deserts of Mexico and the United States.
Synonyms: Reddish Prickly Pear, Blinding Prickly Pear, Angel Wings, Rabbit Ears.
Very ornamental and easy to grow. The ideal growing environment is outdoors in rocky or sandy, arid or semi-arid soils, also poor, but perfectly draining, in full sun, in climates with dry winters and little rainy summers. It withstands, in dry conditions and for a short period, temperatures of up to -8º C, while in the presence of rain or snow it appears to be able to withstand up to -4º C, although it is prudent, in the absence of any protection, not to expose it to temperatures below 0º C. Where the climate does not allow outdoor cultivation, it is grown in a pot, with the same method indicated above, to be able to repair it in winter.
In summer, during the vegetative period, water regularly, but let the substrate dry well before watering again; in winter, limit yourself to minimal watering if the cladodes tend to wrinkle. It is advisable not to touch the cladodes with bare hands.
