Accident Reconstruction and Commercial Vehicle Compliance Specialist
I began my accident investigation career in 1994 while in law enforcement and went on to obtain certifications in accident reconstruction, auto/pedestrian reconstruction, commercial vehicle inspection and investigation. I hold a Master TCOLE License and a TCOLE Instructor Certification.
I retired from law enforcement as the Chief of Police. I also served as the Special Operations/ Training Administrator for the City of La Grange Police Department where he received the Meritorious Conduct Citation in 2011. Prior to joining the La Grange Police Department, I served with the Sugar Land Police Department, assisting with the drafting of a M.O.U. that was signed by all the agencies of Ft. Bend County and the Ft. Bend County District Attorney’s Office allowing for a county wide DWI task force and was also assigned to a multi-jurisdictional team who investigated “Staged” motor vehicle crashes related to insurance fraud.
In addition to investigating automobile, commercial vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle related crashes, I have extensive knowledge in commercial vehicle regulations, inspections, and compliance; establishing safety programs for commercial vehicle operations related to intermodal, liquid tank, flat bed, and van operations. I obtained a certification in Motor Fleet Safety Supervision from the Texas Motor Transportation Association and in 1995, was awarded the 100 Club Officer of the Year for work in commercial vehicle safety and enforcement.
I teach traffic safety courses which include accident avoidance, occupant protection, distracted driving avoidance, impaired driving prevention, and has instructed Operation Lifesaver courses-educational awareness in the area of reducing highway-rail crossing crashes to both law enforcement and the general public.
I have participated in the crash testing of automobiles and commercial vehicles for litigation and training purposes.
I obtained a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State, a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University, a Public Manager Certification from Sam Houston State and am a graduate of the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) – Leadership Command College (LCC) and currently serving as President of the Leadership Command College Alumni Association.
