Description
Intro: 1753. There is evidence indicating that this bulbous plant was already mentioned in 1697. Native to the countries around the Mediterranean, but they also occur in large numbers in North Africa and parts of Turkey. The hemispherical inflorescence consists of dozens of bell-shaped pink satin flowers, sometimes small dark red bulbils are visible in the flower umbel. The narrow leaves are slightly hairy. Long lasting cut flower and perfect for naturalising.
