About The Artwork
The artwork “Ombrina” was done after visiting Italy, Liguria. I saw a picturesque craggy beach, where sun-tanned Italian fishermen enjoyed their daily routine. The scents of sea, herbs, freshly caught fish from the fisherman’s bucket, freshly cooked fish from the nearest restaurant remained in my memory. The fish is a catchy, bright detail of a sweet summer story that is called “Dolce far niente” (from Italian “The sweetness of doing nothing”). These warm memories inspired me to create a series of paintings that is called “Fish”.
